Work Day — Wood and Brush Removal
February 21 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Friends and Volunteers,
If you have been around the property this Fall you may have seen a lot of trees and brush cleared by MacKenzie Staff, area DNR support and contract workers (check out the bison fence line). The Friends and volunteers supported contracted cork tree removal earlier last year and we want to have a work day to keep the clean-up efforts moving, plus we need a few more in-kind work hours to meet our grant contribution goal.
We have scheduled Thursday February 21st and a weather alternate Wednesday February 27th — meet at the finishing house, 9:00 am. We will be loading out brush and blocked logs, mostly for the burn pile and will likely need two chain saw operators to cut brush and size logs for handling. If we get enough volunteers Steven will try to get a second dump trailer to improve the work flow. Lunch around 12:30. Dress for the weather.
PLEASE PLAN ON JOINING US and be sure you reply to this email for both date’s availability so I can keep you informed and confirm the date.
Thanks for all your support.
