DESCRIPTION:Friends & Volunteers\,\n\nOnce again great progress was made last week clearing cork wood and brush. The visual results are fantastic. Don Lucke has us recorded this year for a total of 72 hours!\n\nWe plan to continue our cork wood work routine on Wednesday OR Thursday May 1st or 2nd – 9:00 am\, meet at the finishing house. Reply to Don with with which day or days you’re available to work for the morning and he will get back to you with the planned day on Tuesday – weather permitting.\n\nIf this scheduling approach works for you we could carry it over through May. DESCRIPTION:Dear MacKenzie Friends and Volunteers\,\n\n\n\n\n\n\nResending this work day request from this past February when we had to cancel due to weather. \n\nIf you have been around the property this past Fall you would’ve seen a lot of trees and brush cleared by MacKenzie Staff\, area DNR support and forestry contract workers (check out the bison road fence line).  The Friends and volunteers supported contracted invasive cork tree removal earlier last year and we want to have a work day to keep the clean-up efforts moving – plus we have a few more in-kind work hours needed to fulfill our contribution goal with the Center’s forestry grant .\n\nWe have schedule Wednesday April 17th and a weather alternate Thursday April 18th – meet at the finishing house\, 9:00am. We will be loading out brush and blocked logs\, mostly for the burn pile and will likely need two chain saw operators to cut brush and size logs for handling. If we get enough volunteers Steven will try to get a second dump trailer to improve the work flow. Lunch will be around 12:30. DESCRIPTION:Dear Maple Education Volunteers\, \nThe Maple Education Program Clean Up Day will be Tuesday April 9th from 9am – 10am. We will clean and pack up all of the maple materials for hibernation until the next maple season. \nAt about 10:00 AM\, some of the MacKenzie Staff will host a thank you pancake brunch in the MacKenzie Lodge. We hope you can join us!  This is also the time you’ll receive your pints of maple syrup as a thank you for your volunteer time (if you put in at least 15 hours\, not including the training day).
