DESCRIPTION:The new bunks for the dorms are arriving and we need help to set them up.  The bunk beds\, complete with mattresses will be delivered next Thursday morning\, April 13th.  Be at the lodge at 9:00AM if you can help unload\, unpack\, and assemble the beds. Depending on the turnout\, we should be completed by early afternoon. We could use some extra rubber mallets and metal cutting snips for the shipping bands. SUMMARY:Maple Program Clean-up & Volunteer Appreciation Brunch
DESCRIPTION:For all maple program volunteers — come help get everything we used for the maple program taken down\, cleaned up and put away for the season.  Then starting about 11 am the MacKenzie Center staff will be serving a pancake brunch for all volunteers.  This is also the time when volunteers who have put in at least 15 hrs. (not counting training time) will receive their “MacKenzie Gold” maple syrup!

SUMMARY:Maple Fest
DESCRIPTION:This family friendly event allows the public to learn about the science and history of maple sugaring.  There’s a chance to see how trees are tapped and to learn how the Ho-Chunk peoples as well as early European settlers used the sap to make maple sugar or syrup.  Wagon rides\, popcorn\, and other refreshments are available.  The event is free\, although donations are appreciated.  Our gift shop will be open and there’s a drawing for a beautiful quilt (all proceeds support the MacKenzie Center facility and programs) at noon.  There is also a pancake breakfast at the lodge.  Admission is charged for the breakfast — Adults $7.00\, children 3-11 $5.00.

SUMMARY:First Day of Maple Program
DESCRIPTION:Students and groups will begin coming to MacKenzie to learn the biology of maple trees and the history of tapping the trees to obtain sap to make into sugar and syrup.  Groups will have the opportunity to tap a tree and even get a taste of pure “MacKenzie Gold” at the end of the tour.  Tours of approximately 2 hrs. are offered in the morning and afternoon every Tuesday\, Wednesday\, and Thursday in March.  The first day to call in for reservations is Feb. 1 at 7:15 am\, first come\, first served.

Using Data (REPORTS\, etc)\n\nALSO for anyone who is interested in the more “Techie” part\, Dan will be there at 3:00 PM to show you how we will create the Tools (FORMS and REPORTS) that will make using the data much easier for those that are less “Techie”.\n\nOnce we get the data entered we will create reports upon requests that Committees/individuals can use.
