Maple Fest
April 1, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
This family friendly event allows the public to learn about the science and history of maple sugaring. There’s a chance to see how trees are tapped and to learn how the Ho-Chunk peoples as well as early European settlers used the sap to make maple sugar or syrup. Wagon rides, popcorn, and other refreshments are available. The event is free, although donations are appreciated. Our gift shop will be open and there’s a drawing for a beautiful quilt (all proceeds support the MacKenzie Center facility and programs) at noon. There is also a pancake breakfast at the lodge. Admission is charged for the breakfast — Adults $7.00, children 3-11 $5.00.
